I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your lawn care needs last summer - our nineteenth year in business.
First, a few updates on the “Founding Fathers” of Burds’ Lawn Care. In July, Ben Burds, the original owner of Burds’ Lawn Care, moved from the Boston area to upstate New York where he will continue to expand on his entrepreneurial skills as the future owner of a home heating oil delivery service. Jason Burds served in the Marine Corps for the past 6 years and is preparing for a career as a pilot in the Air National Guard. Jason also recently got married. As for me, I graduated from St. Lawrence University in May with a B.A. in Economics and Business. I look forward to active involvement in growing our little company.
I am pleased to share with you all that our little family-run business has achieved many of its goals. First, we provided lawn care service to many local homeowners, associations, and businesses. Second, it taught all three Burds brothers how to manage and operate a successful business. Third, it has been an important source of funding for college.
With these goals completed, I look forward to what's next for Burds’ Lawn Care. Our goals for 2019 are to: 1) grow our customer base, 2) reorganize, 3) improve upon advertising. I plan to have a website and social media presence by this spring. Also, look for the new apparel that the team will be wearing this summer!
I have been thrilled to have Chris on our team. As some of you may know, he was a great help while I finished my studies. I am pleased to report that he is staying on with us to support the great service to which you are accustomed. My duties have shifted to growth and development and to oversee Chris. I am still very much involved although you may not see me week after week at your property. As a result please feel free to reach out to me if you have any comments or concerns.
You may have seen a survey via email. I hope you will share with me how we can provide a better service to you and our new customers.
I appreciate your loyalty, your feedback, and support as we work hard to provide a valued service to you and your household.
Sincerely,
Anthony Burds
