Hello neighbors,
In the coming days, weeks, and months you are going to see a lot of posts and ads from landscaping companies offering their services. We want to take a moment to share how & why we are different.
We are sharing this because the standards we set behind the scenes are exactly what make the difference in the work you see out in the field. If you’re going to trust someone with your property, your home, or your business, we believe you deserve to know what kind of company you’re actually hiring, not just what an ad says.
In order to know why we are different we think it would be best to know:
Where We Have Come From
Where We Are Now
Where We Are Going
As we continue to grow, we have been having real conversations with our current team and with new candidates about what this company is, what it is not, and what it takes to be part of the team. We are looking to add the right people so we can better serve you - our neighbors.
Where We Have Come From
This business started in 1999, with just a boy and his lawnmower in order to save a few bucks for candy/movies as a kid. But over 27 years, that simple beginning turned into something much bigger. We have served this community faithfully. Until recently, that service was in the form of lawn mowing, spring and fall cleanups, and work in that same space. We showed up, we did the job right, and we tried our best to let our work speak for itself.
Over time, the purpose grew. What started as earning “pocket money” transitioned to saving for college, then it became a way to provide for a family, then it became a way to provide for multiple families. We think that matters, because our reputation wasn’t built overnight. It was built in the heat, in long days, in tough jobs, in showing up when others didn’t. We believe we earned trust the hard way.
Where We Are Now
We have grown into something much bigger than just a boy and his lawn mower. For the past 27 years, we have built this company with our own hands - through blood, sweat, and tears. Through long, hot days doing a variety of projects, we have remained committed to taking care of our customers' properties as if they were our own.
Today, we stand at a turning point. We are in a position to become one of the premier service providers in our area.
New Building
This year marks a major step forward for us, with assets we have never had before. We now have a true headquarters in Fort Ethan Allen, which provides us with ample indoor and outdoor space to store and manage our equipment.
New Systems
This winter, we have been diligently building an app for the team to use that will be rolled out this spring. This app helps us stay organized by tracking hours, showing what jobs need to be done, and clearly laying out what needs to happen at each job site.
New Branding Efforts
This spring we will also be making strides in building our brand. Our brand is strong in landscaping, but we do much more than that. We fix, install, maintain, and create. We want our community to see the full picture. In addition to this post, some other things we will be working on is posting updates on the blog on our website, sharing with our customers & the community our updates. Additionally, well as we will be recording our work which will help us tell our story and show the pride we take in what we do. With our strong foundation and infrastructure, we have the ability to grow at a rapid, yet sustainable pace.
We say “sustainable” because this company does not borrow money. We buy things when we can afford them. We grow to serve more community members when we can serve them with a premier service. We offer new services when we can provide them in an excellent way.
What We Are Becoming
We are becoming a full-service, year-round interior and exterior property maintenance company - inside and out! From lawns to remodels, pruning to painting, patios to tiling, and in-between, Burds Lawn Care is here to service your needs.
What's the Point of Burds' Lawn Care?
Our foundation is rooted in these three priorities:
To serve God.
To serve our community.
To serve our families.
Serve God
When we provide honest, quality service, we are serving God through our labor. We believe our work reflects a purpose greater than ourselves. This isn’t about forcing belief or religion - it’s about shared values. What matters is that every team member operates in alignment with the standards that guide this company.
Skill matters - but character matters more. This is how we serve our community.
Serve Our Communit
We serve our community by first serving God and committing to integrity in how we work and operate. That commitment shows up in practical ways: providing reliable, high-quality service, doing what we say we will do, treating customers with respect and kindness, and showing up each day with a positive attitude.
While our work improves homes, properties, and spaces, what matters most is that it builds trust. Every interaction is an opportunity to reflect professionalism, humility, and care. We are not just completing jobs, we are building relationships.
Serve Our Families
When we work with discipline and integrity, we serve our families. We provide income, model work ethic, and carry ourselves in a way that makes our families proud. Our families should benefit not only from what we earn - but from who we become.
The Big Picture
This business exists for more than profit. Profit sustains the mission - it is not the mission.
Our Mission
Our mission is to serve our community by providing premier services in improving properties by building, repairing, and maintaining, carried out by our premier team.
